Change is the Law of Nature.Every physical and social phenomenon is subject to change. In the present times change is necessary and faster in every aspect of life processes. Education being the most potent factor of social change has to adapt itself to the changing needs of the society.Therefore, modus operandi of education is itself changing. Education will be beneficial in the present circumstances only if it is job-oriented and is in conformity with the changing needs of modern society. Therefore, The Islamia Faridiya Educational & Research Institute (TRUST), Kishtwar having felt the need of the hour decided to widen its sphere of Educational Services to the Society by providing not only quality School Education but also better Professional Teacher Education and established the Prestigious CTE, namelyIslamia Faridiya College of Education in the year 2001. The Trust upgraded the century-old Islamia School to Senior Secondary Level in 2003. The School namely Islamia Faridiya Higher Secondary School, Kishtwar is imparting instruction from K. G. to Senior Secondary Stage and is affiliated to The J&K State Board of School Education.In order to provide education in accordance with the rapidly altering needs of the modern times. To achieve this goal the management decided to shift to ENGLISH MEDIUM and introduced Science Stream and Computers Science Education besides Humanities at the Higher Secondary level. This change was necessary as we wanted to provide quality school education,computer education, technical know-how alongwith conventional schooling to the students in our Institution. It is because of this change that the strength of the students in the School has doubled within a span of 5 years. The institution Islamia Faridiya Higher Secondary School Kishtwar is a mega Institution catering to the needs of more than 1400 students belonging to every section and socio-economic class of the society in the region. As regards the Professional Degree Course in Education(B.Ed), by the grace and blessings of Almighty Allah, our Institution Islamia Faridiya College of Education Kishtwar has achieved dizzy heights in its short span of life-about one decade-and in its blooming age has brought laurels to the entire Chenab Valley lapping Districts Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Tehsil Bhaderwah and all other neighboring areas . The quest for professional knowledge/skill in Teaching Profession has to a large extent been accomplished till now and we shall continue to meet the demands of the society in near future from the lap of this organization. The entrants/aspirants of this Institution/College will surely get the services, support and quality education/training as per the demands of the times.The shall definetely be enriched with new expeiences and feel mentally relieved during the period they stay in this peacefl, healthy and disciplined atmosphere in ”This Land of Blue Saphire and Saffron”.
Our institution has always been supportive of coming to the assistance and rescue to those who come especially from Rajasthan, Punjab, H.P and U. P. The members of our faculty dedicate and sacrifice their every thing to teach and guide all those who are lulled in the lap of our class-room. It is a delightful event that during 2006-2007 not a single soul belonging to outside states failed or was put under re-appear category and about 80 candidate obtained 1st division, though obtaining 1st division marks is a usual thing w.r.t. this institution. We have not only scored in academic arena but also in the extra academic spheres, particularly in curricular and extra curricular activities. We have also been in a position to help the needy and down trodden students by way of realizing lesser amount of hostel charges etc through the efforts of the principal and staff. Dozens of students especially belonging to SC/ST from other states could receive scholarships from their respective district level social welfare dept.
The Islamia Fardiya College of Education, Kishtwar is a Govt. recognized college and temporary affiliated with the University of Jammu. The university grants commission has also included this college in the list of colleges prepared under section 2(f) of the UGC Act,1956 under the head Non- Government colleges teaching upto Bachelor’s Degree (ref.UGC letter no. F.8 - 221/2007 (CPP-I) dated 22 sep.2008).
I welcome along with the faculty members, coming of students to this beautiful and charming valley which is being brought up in the lap of nature.
